PM's all-party meeting today, 48-hour alert in Kashmir, internet suspended

Kashmir to be discussed at PM's residence, parties including Congress likely to participate

Srinagar: An all-party meeting on the Jammu and Kashmir issue has been scheduled for Thursday at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ahead of the meeting on Thursday, an eight-hour alert has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir in view of the threat of violence or terrorist attacks. At the same time, the internet service has been suspended for the time being. Organizations like the National Conference and the PDP, which are members of the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), will demand re-imposition of 50 in Kashmir and release of Kashmiri prisoners held in various states. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has even appealed to the central government to talk to Pakistan. These parties have been invited differently so they will also present their demands in a meeting with PM Modi.

PAGD leaders say they will accept it only if the Kashmir issue is discussed at the meeting and the interests of Kashmiris are taken into account. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party leader Syed Altaf Bukhari will also attend a meeting at PM Modi's Delhi residence on Thursday. Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina and party leader and former day to attend the all-party meeting. CM Kavinder Gupta left Jammu for Delhi.

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also left for Delhi to attend the meeting. Congress is also ready to participate in this meeting. Earlier, a meeting was held at Farooq Abdullah's residence to discuss the issues raised with the PM. "We are not opposed to any talks," Abdullah said after the meeting. We have not stated any agenda for the conversation. So every issue will be communicated.
