Petrol-diesel prices rose for the 31st consecutive time, crossing petrol 110 in Rajasthan

New Delhi: Amid rising inflation, petrol and diesel prices have been hiked again. As a result, the difficulties of the citizens are increasing. Fuel prices were raised for the second time in a row on Sunday. According to the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol has been hiked by 35 paise and diesel by 25 paise per liter.

After the new price hike, petrol in the national capital has reached Rs 98.46. While the price of diesel is Rs 88.90. In other major cities, petrol in Mumbai costs Rs 104.56 a liter. While a liter of diesel costs Rs 96.42.

In Kolkata, on the other hand, petrol is priced at Rs 98.30 while diesel is priced at Rs 91.75. In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 99.49 per liter and diesel at Rs 93.46 per liter. Prices have been rising steadily since May 4. This is the 31st increase in petrol and diesel prices so far.

With 31 consecutive hikes, petrol price has gone up by Rs 8.06 per liter while diesel has gone up by Rs 8.37 per liter. The states where petrol prices have now crossed Rs 100 include 15 states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Ladakh, followed by Tamil Nadu.

Currently the most expensive petrol and diesel are found in Srigangaramnagar and Hanumangarh in Rajasthan. Even in Odisha, the price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 in some places. Petrol price in Rajasthan has now crossed the all-time high of Rs 110. In Sriganganar, petrol is priced at Rs 109.29 while diesel is priced at Rs 102.
