Shiv Sena has demanded the separation of Jammu and Kashmir. The demand was raised by Shiv Sena leaders at the Jammu Press Club on Friday. Shiv Sena leaders demand that Jammu get a separate status, Jammu get a separate assembly and constitutional status. The activists, led by Bala Saheb Thackeray, Jammu and Kashmir unit president Manish Sahni, reiterated the demand.

According to Shiv Sena leaders, Kashmir's mistakes and discrimination will no longer be accepted. Now is the time for Jammu to decide its own future. Manish Sahni said that Jammu is allowed to be a Union Territory but it is not allowed to remain attached to Kashmir under any circumstances. For the last 73 years, Jammu has been suffering the punishment of Kashmiri leaders in addition to discrimination which is still going on today.

The main reason for the stripping of state status from Jammu and Kashmir is the active terrorism in Kashmir and the controversial ideology of Kashmiri leaders. Describing the Kashmiri leaders as opportunists, Sahni said that even today, the leaders of Kashmir do not miss any opportunity to abolish Article 370 and sing the tune of the enemy countries Pakistan and China.

The support of Kashmiri leaders is not allowed

Shiv Sena leaders said that Jammu was not ready to deal with those who opposed the implementation of the Indian Constitution and the target. ‘J’ was always missing from awards like KAS, KPS, Sher-e-Kashmir etc. His gesture was towards Jammu. He said that till date no space could be found on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh. We also had to take to the roads with the Jammu AIIMS. Even today, Hindu leaders are barred from entering Kashmir.

To date, Hindu Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to flee due to terrorist incidents in 1989-90 have not been able to return home. He also accused the current and former central governments of being Kashmir-centric. Sahni said that even today, meetings with the leaders of Kashmir are given importance by ignoring Jammu in the matter of major decisions on Jammu and Kashmir.

There is no option but to secede from Kashmir

According to the Shiv Sena leader, his patience has run out and he has no choice but to secede from Kashmir. Even today, Jammu is being discriminated against in everything from industrial development packages, relief packages, oxygen plants, health facilities, saffron promotion schemes and tourism development to jobs announced by the central government. Jammu also found nothing but disappointment in the delimitation commission's 2011 census. "Now is the time for us to unite for the protection of our future, our identity and our culture and raise the demand for a separate Jammu," Sahni said.
