One more weapon against Corona, Novavex's vaccine is 90 percent effective

The company claims that the vaccine is fairly easy to store and transport

New Delhi: Vaccine maker Novavex on Monday said its vaccine is 90 per cent effective against the corona virus. Also effective against many types of Corona variants. This fact has come to light after a large study in the United States. Apart from this, many other things have come up in this late stage study conducted in America.

US company NovaVex signed an agreement with the Pune-based Serum Institute of India in August last year. Under which 200 crore vaccine doses were to be produced.

The company says its vaccine is about 90 percent effective and is also safe, according to initial figures. These figures come at a time when the demand for corona vaccine is on the rise in the world and various companies are working day and night to meet it.

Altogether, the world, which has been battling the corona virus for the past year and a half, has found a new weapon in the form of the Novavex vaccine. The company said the vaccine is easy to store and transport.

It is hoped that Novavex will be able to help provide coronavirus vaccines to developing countries around the world. However this help is still months away. The company says the United States, Europe and other countries plan to get the vaccine approved by the end of September. The company will also be able to produce 100 million vaccine doses a month by then.

According to Our World in Data, when half of the U.S. population received less than one dose of the corona vaccine, less than 1 percent of people in developing countries received the corona vaccine. Novavex says some of its production will first go to low- and middle-income countries.

The Novavex study involved about 30,000 people over the age of 18 in the United States and Mexico. Of these, 60 per cent were given both doses of the vaccine at three-week intervals. The rest were given dummy shots.
