New e-commerce rules will affect employment: some states unhappy

Non-BJP ruled states objected

States demand that its negative effects be removed before the new rules are implemented

New Delhi: Non-BJP-ruled states have expressed concern over the new rules on e-commerce announced by the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs. These states argue that these new rules will increase unemployment.

These states argue that before implementing any new rules, care must be taken not to affect the revenue and economic revenue of their states. The states have also said that whatever advice and suggestions we have should not have an impact on the implementation of the government's new rules.

The new rules that the government has created for e-commerce will increase the investment of online retail companies in particular. According to industry insiders, Amazon and Walmart's Flipkart will have to change their business structure. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has prepared the framework for research in the Consumer Protection Rules 2020.

The research draft will curb flash sales on e-commerce platforms and curb the importance of private brands. There is also a provision to appoint a compliance officer from the companies and place the responsibility on the e-commerce platform in case the customer is harmed due to neglect of salary. States argue that doing so could have an impact on jobs.
