Mumbai: A month-long rain fell in just 11 days, Andheri subway flooded, high alert till Sunday

Mumbai has been receiving torrential rains for the last three days. The situation is such that there is still a month of rain in just 11 days of the onset of monsoon. Mumbai has received more than 560 mm of rainfall in 11 days, which is still in its infancy. Apart from this, the meteorological department has forecast heavy rains for the next two days. Due to which, the meteorological department has issued high alert in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri and Raigad till Sunday.

Mumbai has been receiving continuous rains since the onset of the southwest monsoon. Heavy rains have flooded Andheri subway. Many areas including Kurla, Santa Cruz, Andheri have been flooded. For Mumbai, the monsoon brings this kind of trouble every year. Only a few hours of rain can disrupt public life.

According to the meteorological department, heavy rains are expected in Mumbai and surrounding areas on June 13 and 14. A red alert has been issued in these areas. Apart from this, people have also been denied access to the sea by the BMC. At the same time the administration is currently on alert mode. Amid the possibility of heavy rains, 15 teams of NDRF have been deployed in different areas. Along with this, BMC has taken up the task of removing fallen trees and waterlogging at various places.


Apart from this, some areas of the state are likely to receive rains up to 204.05 in 24 hours on Sunday. The Orange Alert will remain in the Konkan area of ​​the city till Tuesday. According to the meteorological department, Mumbai received 107 mm of rain in 24 hours till 8:30 pm on Friday.
