Many leaders were absent from the meeting of the opposition convened by Sharad Pawar and Yashwant Sinha


In the midst of a third front debate against the BJP

New Delhi: The Opposition met at the residence of NCP President Sharad Pawar on Tuesday. The meeting was held at his official residence in Delhi. The meeting, which lasted for about an hour and a half, however, was not attended by many tall leaders. It is speculated that the meeting was convened in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Among the leaders present at the meeting were Pawar's daughter and MP Supriya Sule, former Congress spokesperson Sanjay Ja, NCP Rajya Sabha MP Majid Memon, CPI leader Vinay Vishwam, CPM leader Nilotpal Basu, TMC leader Yashwant Sinha, NCP MP Vandan Chavan, Gupta was present.

Most parties sent only their own MPs while the big leaders stayed away from the meeting. In it, NCP MP Majid Memon claimed that the meeting was not called by Sharad Pawar but by Yashwant Sinha who has been a critic of the Modi government.

Majid Memon claimed that the purpose of the meeting was not to open a front against the Modi government but to discuss important issues. Yashwant Sinha said that leaders like Manish Tiwari, Shatrughan Sinha, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Kapil Sibal were also invited but they were not present.

As no leader is present in Delhi at present. "We have authorized Yashwant Sinha to form a team," SP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari said. The task of this team is to discuss various issues going on in the country.
