Introduced a bill in the American Congress to abolish the green card system by country

Numerous citizens of Indian descent will benefit

People have to wait for years because the United States issues green cards to only 7% of its citizens each year.

WASHINGTON: A landmark bill was introduced in the US Congress to amend the green card system. Congressmen Zoe Lofgreen and John Curtis introduced the bill in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill advocates the abolition of the country-wise greencard system.

The United States currently issues green cards to seven percent of its citizens. Seven percent of citizens of each country living in the United States and awaiting a permanent license receive a green card based on seniority.

Because of this, citizens of many countries like India and China have been waiting for a green card for three decades. With only seven per cent being allowed a green card, other citizens' turn will come in the coming years.

To address this, the United States is now proposing to abolish the KET system and issue a green card. A historic bill has been introduced for this during Biden's reign. Equal Access to Green Cards for Legal Employment Act-2021 has been introduced.

If the bill passes in Parliament, the decades-long wait of a number of Indian nationals living in the US will come to an end. The chances of him getting a green card in the next two-three years will be bright.

Another provision in the bill is that the visa limit for the family is seven per cent. It is recommended to increase it to 15 percent. That is, seven percent of all foreign nationals living in the United States were allowed to work in the United States.

It is proposed to increase that number to 15. This new provision will make it easier for a family member of IT experts to reach the United States.

Introducing the bill, the Congressman said that many citizens in the country have been waiting for a permanent resident card i.e. green card since 1990. It is time to give them a green card.

Their 30 year old application needs to be disposed of. Joe Biden promised to ease visa policy in the run-up to the election, in the face of former President Donald Trump's tough visa policy. The bill has been introduced as part of it.
