Profitable sell-off after opening high

AHMEDABAD: Profit selling pressure eased after the country's two benchmark benchmark indexes hit a new high at the start of trading today.

The BSE benchmark Sensex, which started the day on a strong note, touched a new high of 53126.73, after which it retreated on a bearish sell-off, falling 189.45 points to close at 52735.59.

Only trading at the NSE got off to a high start. The Nifty opened 45.65 points lower at 15,814.70 after opening at a new all-time high of 15,915.35 today. Foreign investors today raised a total of Rs. 1658 crore was under sale.
