In May, 31.12 lakh passengers traveled by air in the country

According to figures released by the country's Aviation Regulatory Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), 31.19 lakh people traveled by air in May. However, this number is 4% less than in April. In April, 2.5 lakh people traveled by air in the country.

In March, 4.5 lakh people traveled by air in the country. The second wave of Corona is responsible for the decline in domestic passenger numbers in May.

Indigo Airlines received 11.5 lakh domestic passengers in May. Which is 4.5 per cent of the total passengers. Spite Jet received 1.5 lakh domestic passengers. Which is 4.5 per cent of the total passengers.

According to figures released by the DGCA, Air India, Go First (formerly Go Air), Vistara and Air Asia India received 4.5 lakh, 1.5 lakh, 3,000 and 5,000 domestic passengers respectively in May.

After a two-month hiatus in India, domestic flights were allowed from May 8 last year. Indian airlines have been allowed to fill up to 50 per cent more seats than Coro's previous capacity.
