Ghee pours in Uttar Pradesh, speculation of change in Yogi cabinet

New Delhi, Dt

The BJP has put an end to speculations about urgent meetings between the BJP high command and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Delhi over the past two days. Party sources said there were no differences between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Contrary to speculation in political circles, Prime Minister Modi, BJP president JP Nadda and Union Minister Amit Shah have met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to review issues related to Uttar Pradesh.

Senior BJP leaders also said that there was a strong message from these meetings against the voices raised against Yogi Adityanath. A senior BJP leader said the purpose of these meetings was to formulate a strategy to win the next elections as well as to send a message to the leadership in the state that there will be a yogi face in the next assembly elections.

In the last two days, meetings were held between leading BJP leaders, Prime Minister Modi, party president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Yogi Adityanath had a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah for about an hour and a half yesterday and with Prime Minister Modi for about an hour on Friday. Yogi Adityanath also had a meeting for about an hour and a half at the residence of BJP president JP Nadda.

With less than a year to go before the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has taken steps to resolve internal differences. Dattatreya Hosbole, a senior RSS leader, recommended the BJP for a feedback session after his visit to Uttar Pradesh due to internal dissatisfaction. Senior BJP leader BL Santosh reviewed the internal discontent in the party in a meeting with Uttar Pradesh MPs, MLAs and the chief minister last week and submitted a report to the Modi delegation in Delhi.

Sources said the purpose of these meetings is to show faith in Chief Minister Yogi. At the heart of these discussions is the adherence to the central government's plans and the political and racial equations. These meetings have finalized the outline for the forthcoming Assembly elections. The party leaders said that during the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, discussions were held on increasing the number of beneficiaries of the central scheme in the state before the Assembly elections. In the meetings Yogi also gave information about the works of his government during the Koro epidemic.

Assembly elections are to be held in Uttar Pradesh at the beginning of next year. After the party's poor showing in the local body elections, this election will be a big test for the BJP before the 206th Lok Sabha elections. If there are 202 seats in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, then in the Lok Sabha, 40 MPs are elected from here and reach Delhi.
