For the first time in Tamil Nadu, petrol price has gone up by Rs. Cross 100

Today, with petrol and diesel prices being hiked again, petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 for the first time in Tamil Nadu. With this, Tamil Nadu has become the tenth state where the price of petrol has crossed Rs 100. Earlier, petrol prices in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Ladakh had crossed Rs 100.

Today, a liter of petrol and diesel has been increased by 3 paise. At the same time, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 2.11 and the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 7.5.

Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state as VAT rates vary from state to state. Today, petrol prices in Salem, Vellore and Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu have gone up by Rs. 100 was exceeded.

In Chennai, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 2.15 and a liter of diesel to Rs 4.5 today. In metro cities, petrol prices have already crossed Rs 100 in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

After today's price hike, the price of a liter of petrol in Mumbai has gone up to Rs 106.5 and a liter of diesel has come down to Rs 8.15. It may be mentioned that in some cities in Rajasthan and Odisha, the price of diesel has gone up to over Rs 100. In Rajasthan's Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh, diesel prices have crossed Rs 100.

Today's price hike is the 20th since May 4. Petrol price has been hiked by a total of Rs 2.31 and diesel by Rs 2.15 in 20 hikes since May 4.

Indian oil marketing companies determine the price of petrol and diesel in the international market based on the price of crude and the value of the rupee against the dollar. For the first time since April 2016, the price of crude in the international market has crossed ૭૫ 6.
