The Government of India has intensified the exercise to bring Mehul Choksi from Dominica to India, who was involved in the Punjab National Bank loan scam.

Details have emerged that eight officials from various Indian agencies as well as CRPF commandos are camping in Dominica. The Indian government is also pushing for the extradition of Mehul Choksi to Dominica through back channel diplomacy.

A team of eight officers has arrived in Dominica by private jet with all the documents accompanying Choksi. The Indian team is trying to get Mehul Choksi extradited by the Dominican government. The team of officials includes CBI and ED officials.

Earlier, Antigua and Barbuda PM Gaston Brown had revealed that India was the first to send a plane to pick up Mehul Choksi. India has sent a private plane to Dominica with extradition documents, it said in a radio show on Sunday. With that, he said, the Dominican Republic should send Choksi back to India as soon as possible. However, the Indian government has not commented in support of the statement.

On the other hand, according to media reports from Antigua, a private plane has landed in Dominica and this has led to speculation about the return of Choksi. Notably, the exact neighbor who disappeared from Antigua under mysterious circumstances was caught in Dominica.

The plane, which landed in Dominica, took off from Delhi on May 28 and reached Dominica at 1 pm today.

Earlier, Choksi alleged that police officers who looked like Indians had abducted me from Antigua and taken me to Dominica. A picture of Choksi has surfaced in Dominica. In which swelling on his eye and marks of injury on his hand can be seen.

Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi have been charged with a Rs 13,500 crore loan scam with Punjab National Bank. Choksi fled India in 2018 and fled to Antigua. Then came the scandal.
