Discussion between Pawar-Prashant Kishor on the third front of regional parties

Marathon meeting of NCP supremo with election strategist in Mumbai

MUMBAI: As far as national politics is concerned, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar's Mumbai residence 'Silver Oak' has once again become a well-known address. Considered important from the point of view.

The meeting is seen as a prelude to the formation of a third front of regional parties against the BJP. Prashant Kishor reached Pawar's residence in south Mumbai at 11 a.m. and was there till 2 p.m. NCP's Maharashtra unit president Jayant Patil was also in Silver Oak a few times but left early.

According to informed NCP sources, the topics discussed at the meeting included the possibility of giving the BJP an alternative. The luncheon meeting was held a day after Sharad Pawar's statement that the state's Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) government would not only complete its five-year term but also do well in the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.

Besides, Pawar also touched on the issue of a meeting between him and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi last week. NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik remarked that Pawar and Prashant Kishore met before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a broad coalition of political parties needed to form a coalition against the ruling BJP.

"NCP president Sharad Pawar himself has said in the past that all parties need to form a national alliance to face the BJP. I will try to unite all such parties," Malik added.
