Chinese blogger jailed for eight months for writing that Chinese soldiers were scared of Indian soldiers

Beijing, Ta. 1 June 2021, Tuesday

The Chinese Communist Party has cracked down on a blogger who opened a Chinese poll on the bloody conflict in the Galvan Valley between Indian and Chinese troops last year.

China has jailed the blogger. The exact number of Chinese soldiers killed in the clashes is not yet known. Recently, Chinese blogger Chou Jimming expressed doubts about the number of soldiers killed in the clashes. China has since accused the blogger of insulting martyrs. He has been sentenced to eight months in prison.

India and foreign media also claimed that more than 40 Chinese soldiers may have been killed in the clashes last year. However, China did not name Mugabe at the time, and months later admitted that four Chinese soldiers had been killed.

Meanwhile, blogger Chou Jimming wrote in a blog post that China has only talked about four soldiers being killed, but I believe that number is much higher. The Chinese troops were scared of the Indian troops and were not even ready to face them.

The Chinese blogger's text went viral and people started sharing it. China's ruling Communist Party was shocked and likened the blog to an insult to the martyrs.

The Chinese government, meanwhile, gave the blogger an ultimatum within 10 days to apologize for the statement. He was then beaten by police in Nanjing province. Jimming was seen apologizing in a video released after the arrest. The court, however, sentenced him to eight months.
