Bihar's Ara Chakchari massacre 10 sentenced to death, fined Rs 2.60 lakh

Ara: A convict on Monday sentenced 10 people, including the infamous Khurshid Qureshi, to death in the murder case of notorious bag businessman Imran Khan in Bihar's Ara city. In addition to this sentence, a fine of Rs 2.60 lakh has also been imposed on the basis of different sections. Manoj Kumar, ADJ9 of Ara, handed down the sentence via video conference.

Among the convicts is Khurshid Qureshi's brother Abdullah. The accused were convicted on March 9. The court found all the accused guilty of murder, criminal conspiracy, under the Arms Act as well as other sections. It may be noted that on a white day in December 2018, criminals opened fire at Shobha Market in Dharman Chowk area of ​​Ara. In which a milk bowl resident bag executive Imran Khan was killed.

Imran's brother Akil Ahmed and a BSNL worker were also injured in the shooting. A complaint was lodged against Khurshid Qureshi and others, including his brother, at the town police station on Akil Ahmed's statement. It was claimed that a ransom of Rs 10 lakh was demanded, which the perpetrators refused to pay and fired at Imran and his brother. In which Imran was killed and his other comrades were injured.

Arani's court has ordered Khurshid Qureshi and his brother Abdullah Qureshi, Raju Khan of Nazirganj, Anwar Qureshi of Rauja mohalla, Ahmed Minya, Babli Mian, Toushif Alam and Guddu Mian et al were convicted and sentenced to death. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2.60 lakh along with the death sentence.

The infamous Khurshid Qureshi tried to take over the market in the area where he was shot dead and demanded installments from traders. The merchant who was killed refused to pay the ransom which led to his murder. The whole of Ara city was in a state of panic after the incident and the pressure on the administration to take action also increased.
