The Uttar Pradesh ATS is now cracking down on Maulana Mohammad Umar Gautam, one of the two accused of large-scale proselytizing in Uttar Pradesh, after he was remanded. Investigating agencies have been alerted as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also monitoring the case. Maulana Umar Gautam had built a large network in Lucknow. He was vice chairman of an educational institution while his Al Hassan Institute in the Mango Belt was working on the conversion of the poor.

The Uttar Pradesh ATS on Thursday raided the Al Hassan Institute, Mahilabad. Members of the ATS team at Al Hassan Institute in Rehman Kheda, Kakori area, Mahilabad are investigating conversions and other matters. Investigative agencies are also believed to have found a terror angle here. The ATS, along with Maulana Mohammad Umar Gautam, has been monitoring every move of his ally Jahangir.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed to thoroughly investigate every aspect and arrest all the other culprits after a major proselytizing case came to light. The Uttar Pradesh ATS on Monday arrested Mohammad Umar Gautam and Mufti Kazi Jahangir Alam Kasmi from Lucknow in connection with the conversion of thousands of people. Uttar Pradesh ATS has been remanded for seven days on Tuesday. Now the investigating agency is trying to uncover big secrets from him. On the other hand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed to take action against him under the NSA and confiscate his assets.

Meanwhile, new information is coming up every day on the issue of conversion. A female teacher formerly associated with Nurul Hada English Medium School has revealed that Mohammad Umar Gautam came to her school in the year 2020 with 20-24 Maulanas. The Maulanas who came to the school at that time pressured him to convert. The teacher claimed that the Maulanas were also tempted to alleviate poverty by converting. On the other hand, they were constantly opposing the teaching of Urdu and Arabic to Hindu children. Because of this the teacher was fired by the school manager. The woman teacher then lodged a case against the school manager and her son at the police station.
