About 3,000 junior doctors in Madhya Pradesh have resigned en masse

The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday directed the junior doctors of six government medical colleges, who had gone on strike three days ago over their various demands, to return to work within 24 hours. Within hours of the court's ruling, about 3,000 junior doctors had resigned en masse.

According to Arvind Meena, president of the Madhya Pradesh Junior Doctors Association (JUDA), about 3,000 junior doctors from six medical colleges in the state on Thursday resigned en masse to the deans of their respective medical colleges. He said that the state government has canceled the enrollment of third year junior doctors so how will they sit for the exam now.

Junior doctors doing PG get degree in 3 years while diploma in 2 years. Meena said they would soon be knocking on the Supreme Court's door to challenge the Madhya Pradesh High Court's decision. He informed that the Medical Officers Association and the Federation of Resident Doctors Association were with him.
