New York City, meanwhile, reported 6.7 percent of delta variant cases, according to figures released by the New York City Department of Health. A total of 105 cases were reported in the week ended June 5, of which 6.7 per cent were in the Delta variant.

Alpha and Iota variants are currently the most common cases in New York. Delta and gamma variants, which are spreading rapidly in the US and other countries, are being monitored by the Department of Health.
