3 lakh farmers of the country have not brought any tractor from Afghanistan: Rakesh Tikait

New Delhi: Rakesh Tikait, one of the leaders of the peasant movement, has slammed the Center. Tikait has accused the central government of not communicating with farmers. He said the central government was ignoring the farmers and was not ashamed to do so.

Rakesh Tikait said that four lakh tractors and 4 lakh people are here. These tractors are from this country, not from Afghanistan. For the last seven months we have been protesting peacefully, isn't the government so ashamed to hear what the farmers have to say. Democracy does not work this way.

Earlier, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait attacked the government on social media, saying that four lakh tractors were also here and six lakh farmers were also here. With his tweet, Tikait tagged the bill as soon as he returned home. He wrote that the government should remember that there are four lakh tractors here, they are standing around Delhi, 3 lakh farmers are also here and even the 5th date is coming every month.

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata a few days back on issues related to farmers. At the meeting, Mamata assured the peasant leaders to support the movement against the new agricultural law. With that he said targeting states is not a good thing for the federal structure.
