126 crore heroin seized from two South Africans


The investigation revealed that the thugs were members of a syndicate

New Delhi: A total of Rs 126 crore worth of narcotics has been seized at an international airport here from two South African thugs trying to smuggle heroin into the country.

The two accused, who were traveling from Johannesburg to Doha, were detained on Saturday. In addition to his belongings, a personal inspection was carried out. Meanwhile, a quantity of 8 kg of heroin in the form of light white powder and granules was seized. A quantity of 10 kg of heroin was found from another marine.

Both the accused are said to be members of a syndicate. The market value of the 18 kg of heroin is estimated to be Rs 126 crore. The powder was tactfully hidden in a trolley bag. Both the miscreants have been arrested and a smuggling case has been registered against them.
