Wait till evening, Babul Supriyo was not expected to be behind: BJP in-charge Vijayvargiya

New Delhi, May 2, 2021

Counting of votes in four states and one union territory is underway today amid the Corona epidemic.

Mamata Banerjee's party is seen in the forefront in West Bengal's prestigious election battle. The same trend of TMC getting a clear majority is seen in the initial counting of votes. Veteran BJP candidates are lagging behind in the counting of votes.

Meanwhile, BJP's West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargi said it was too early to comment on the trend, adding that BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee was expected to be behind but did not think Babul Supriyo would be behind.

"After four or five rounds, Locket Chatterjee and Swapn Das Gupta will also be ahead," he said.

On the other hand, for the Suvendu officer, he said that Mamata Banerjee will lose by 25000 votes in Nandigram, BJP will be ahead by evening. In some districts, even if we are behind now, we will be ahead by evening. By then the status will be clear.
