Amid a rapidly growing corona infection in India, top US health expert Dr. Anthony Fauchi said the only long-term solution was to vaccinate all people in India to get out of the current corona crisis. Fauchi called for increasing production of the corona vaccine domestically and globally to combat the epidemic.

"People need to be vaccinated to completely eradicate this epidemic," Fouchi, a medical adviser to US President Joe Biden, said in an interview. India is the world's largest producer of vaccines. It is getting its own resources not only from the country but also from outside.

"This is why other countries should help India to produce their vaccines there," Fauchi said. Another method is that large companies have the ability to create vaccines that are actually capable of receiving hundreds of millions of doses on a massive scale.

In response to a question, he said that India urgently needs to build a temporary hospital in the same way as China did about a year ago. You can’t leave people on the roads without a hospital bed. The situation with oxygen is very delicate. The fact that people cannot get oxygen is sad.

He also spoke of the need for a nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Corona. According to him, breaking the chain of transition is most needed and lockdown is the only solution.
