New Delhi, 24 May 2021 Monday

The issue of toolkit is gaining momentum in the country. On Monday, a special cell of the Delhi Police took major action in the matter and raided the Twitter India office. The Special Cell team's proceedings are still ongoing. On Monday evening, teams of the Delhi Police Special Cell rushed to the Twitter offices in Delhi and Gurugram to investigate the 'Toolkit' case, a Delhi Police official said, adding that proceedings were underway at the Lado Sarai and Gurugram-based Twitter offices in Delhi.

Sources, on the other hand, said that a team of Delhi Police had gone to the Twitter office to give notice to Twitter as part of a routine process. According to the Delhi Police, the action was necessary as it was necessary to know who was the right person to issue the notice, the Twitter India's MD's answers were very vague.

Earlier on May 21, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had sent a notice to Twitter India chief Manish Maheshwari in the toolkit case and asked him to clarify the case. Delhi Police says it is investigating a complaint in which Twitter called the character's tweet "manipulated media".

The toolkit controversy erupted when Sambit Patra said that the Congress had created a toolkit which was an attempt to discredit the Modi government.
