There is no point in imposing night curfew and weekend curfew, lockdown is the only solution: Dr. Guleria

AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria said there was no point in imposing a night curfew and weekend lockdown at the present time.

According to a news channel report, Dr. Guleria said that if the corona epidemic continues like this and the virus is able to develop an immune escape mechanism, it is possible that India will also face a third wave of corona. So there is a need for a timely lockdown.

"There are three things that need to be addressed at the moment. Improving hospital facilities, stopping the growing number of cases of corona and speeding up vaccinations. Breaking the chain of infection.

According to Dr. Guleria, there is no point in imposing a weekend lockdown or night curfew at this time. We need to understand that people need to be vaccinated soon to boost their immune system and also understand how the virus changes its form.

Meanwhile, 15.89 crore people have been vaccinated so far in the ongoing vaccinations in the country.
