The Center told the Supreme Court that all will be vaccinated against corona by the end of this year

New Delhi, 31 May 2021 Monday

During the ongoing Supreme Court hearing on corona vaccination in the country, the central government has claimed that by the end of 2021, every citizen of the country will be vaccinated, including the vaccination of all people above 18 years of age.

The case is being heard by a three-judge bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud. During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on behalf of the central government said that the report of the Oxygen Task Force was almost complete and the situation was under control. In this regard, Judge Bhatt said, "The only problem I am expressing is about providing vaccines to the whole country. The only thing we want to pay attention to is the pricing policy. You are asking states to compete with each other.

"There is no competition," said Solicitor General Mehta. Some states pay more and receive more and some pay less and receive less, it is not. In this regard, Justice Chandrachud said, "Various municipal corporations are issuing global tenders for the purchase of vaccines. Is this the policy of the Center?

In this regard, Solicitor General Mehta said, "Many states have issued global tenders for the vaccine, but vaccine manufacturers like Pfizer or others have their own policies. It discusses directly with the country and does not talk to the state. "The issue is not about vaccines available across the country, we want to know what the policy is on vaccine prices," Justice Bhatt said. You are asking states to buy vaccines and compete with each other.
