The state is witnessing an anti-incumbency wave as per the initial trend of counting of votes in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The main battle here is between the AIDMK and the DMK and the DMK is ahead in the race for power as predicted in the exit polls. Stalin's magic is working here. Thus the DMK's lead has surpassed the required majority figure.
Here, the BJP has an alliance with the AIDMK and the Congress with the DMK. For the Congress, which is heading for a crushing defeat in West Bengal, Assam and Kerala, the outcome in Tamil Nadu may be a little reassuring.
