Shubhendu Adhikari or Mukul Roy? Who will make BJP the Leader of Opposition in the House in Bengal?

- The question is whether it will be Shubhendu Adhikari or Mukul Roy or the BJP will choose one of the leaders from its own Sangh background.

TMC president Mamata Banerjee has come to power in West Bengal for the third time. The ministers in Mamata Banerjee's cabinet were sworn in on Monday. In this regard, for the first time in the political history of Bengal, the BJP has grown from 3 seats to 77 seats and has become the main opposition party.

In these circumstances, all eyes are on who will be the first Leader of Opposition from the BJP in the Assembly. Mukul Roy, the Shubhendu officer who defeated Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram or an expert in election tactics and a gigantic leader who won the Assembly elections for the first time, will be the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. Or the question is whether this responsibility will be handed over to anyone other than these two leaders.

However, the BJP has appointed 2 supervisors for the selection of its MLA leader in Bengal. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and BJP National General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav have been given the responsibility of supervisors. Now these two central leaders will soon visit Bengal and after the meeting of the newly elected MLAs, the Legislative Party will elect the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.

The political stature of Shubhendu Adhikari, who defeated Mamata Banerjee in the Nandigram seat, has skyrocketed. The personality and leadership ability of the officer may also be taken into consideration. One faction of the party believes that Shubhendu Adhikari will be able to fight the TMC, which returned to power with a landslide victory, but they have not been able to give the BJP the glorious victory in their constituency that the party had hoped for.

In this direction, Mukul Roy has won from Krishnanagar North seat and become an MLA. He was at number one in TMC at one time. Even though he has won the first election of his life, his experience in strategy is not less. However, there are already doubts about how influential he will be as an MLA. Although he has been a Rajya Sabha member twice, he has not been able to make an impression as a speaker in Parliament.

Shubhendu has more experience

Shubhendu Adhikari has more experience than Mukul Roy as an MLA but experience, patience and political knowledge are essential for parliamentary politics. Mukul has the patience to fight with Mamata in the assembly for 5 years. Both these leaders have joined the BJP from the TMC but only a few of the majority of the winning MLAs have experience in parliamentary politics.

Madarihat MLA Manoj Tigga is also involved in the race. He is one of the three BJP MLAs who won in 2016. He was leading the party in the assembly after Dilip Ghosh left the legislature. Chakdah MLA Bankim Ghosh, Jaipur winner Narhari Mahto and Gogat MLA Bishwanath Karak have parliamentary experience. Mihir Goswami has won from Natabadi in Cooch Behar. In these circumstances, the question is whether it will be Shubhendu Adhikari or Mukul Roy or the BJP will choose one of the leaders from its own Sangh background.
