Should people in government hang themselves for not producing vaccines ?: Sadanand Gowda

New Delhi, 13 May 2021 Thursday

Many states in the country are complaining about the shortage of Corona virus vaccine, but Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda did not like the questions about the shortage of vaccines and got angry with reporters. He also asked whether those in government should hang themselves for not producing vaccines.

"The court has said in good faith that everyone in the country should be vaccinated," Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Gowda told the media on Thursday. I want to ask you if the court will say tomorrow that you have to give so much (vaccines) and if it cannot be made, should we hang ourselves? '

On the issue of vaccine shortage, the Union Minister emphasized the government's action, plan and said that its decisions are not for political gain or any other reason. Gowda said the government was doing its job with utmost sincerity and honesty and in the meantime some shortcomings had come out.

The Union Minister asked, "Practically some things that are beyond our control, can we manage it?" He clarified that the government is doing its best to improve the situation and get people vaccinated in a day or two.

BJP national general secretary CT Ravi, who was present with Gowda, claimed that the situation could have worsened if arrangements had not been made in time. "If proper arrangements had not been made in advance, the death toll would have been 10 times or 100 times higher," Ravi said. "But our preparations failed because of the incredible spread of the corona virus," Ravi said.

"The judges are not aware of everything," Ravi said when the court slammed the government over the Corona virus. Based on what we have available, the Technical Advisory Committee will recommend how much (vaccine) will be distributed. We will make a decision based on their report. "

Corona virus is a cause for concern in Karnataka and 40-50 thousand cases are reported every day. Along with this, the demand for vaccines has also increased many times. According to state government officials, the state had ordered the purchase of 3 crore vaccines and supplied two vaccine manufacturers. However, only seven lakh doses have reached the state. People stand in line in front of many vaccination centers but have to turn back.
