Dal Sarovar, situated between the hills in Srinagar, is famous all over the world. The unique Shikara ambulance, which became the center of attraction in December 2020, is now seen floating on the water of Dal Sarovar. The owner of the ambulance, Tariq Patlu, informs the people living in Dal Sarovar about Korona and awakens them. He said that as soon as the SOS call comes, they also reach out to help.

Tariq Ahmed Patlu, who lives in Dal Sarovar, decided to build a Shikara ambulance after an incident happened to him and completed the work in December with the help of an outside trust. Tariq said he was infected during the first wave of the Corona last year and was the first to go into isolation in his houseboat under the Covid-19 protocol. His health deteriorated further and he had to be hospitalized. After returning from the hospital, the hunters on the shore of the lake refused to take him to their houseboat. It was at that time that he decided to build a hunting ambulance.

His ambulance visits the interior of Dal Sarovar every day with a stretcher, wheelchair and some belongings related to Kovid. Tariq said that during the harvest month of Ramadan, he used to go to wake people up for 2-3 hours every day. When the SOS call comes, they also carry the patient to and from the inner area of Dal Sarovar and also deliver the PPE kit, mask etc. that is needed. This ambulance has been prepared at a cost of about 2 months hard work and 12 lakh rupees.
