Relief to states amid tax crisis: The central government has given the first installment of Rs 8873.6 crore to the states

The first installment of Rs 8873.6 crore from the central part of the State Disaster Management Response Fund (SDRF) for the year 2021-22 has been disbursed to the states, the Finance Ministry said on Saturday. The ministry said 50 per cent of the amount, or Rs 4,436.8 crore, could be used by states to manage the corona virus.

The ministry also said that Rs 8873.6 crore has been given to the states on the recommendation of the home ministry. It may be mentioned that usually the first installment of SDRF is given in the month of June based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Finance. The finance ministry said in a statement that the money for the SDRF had been disbursed in the process. This amount has been given without waiting for the utilization certificates of the amount given to the states in the last financial year.

It may be mentioned that the amount received by the state under SDRF can be used by the state government for various works connected with the corona and its management. Corona Hospital, Covid Care Center.
