Rajasthan to hold tough lockdown from May 10 to 24, ban on weddings, religious places to be closed


- Marriage will be allowed at home or as a court marriage in which only 11 people can be involved

The Gehlot government on Thursday announced an extension of the lockdown in view of the rising Koro transition in Rajasthan. As per the announcement made by Ashok Gehlot government, lockdown will be applicable in Rajasthan from 5:00 am on May 10 to 5:00 am on May 24. Not only that, the state will also ban wedding ceremonies till May 31.

Along with the ban on marriages in Rajasthan during the lockdown, there will also be a complete ban on all activities other than emergency services. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced a full lockdown after the cabinet meeting.

Under the lockdown rules, no wedding ceremonies, DJs, funerals and banquets will be allowed in the state till May 31. Marriage will be allowed at home or as a court marriage involving only 11 people and will have to be notified on the government portal.

Bandwajas, cooks, tents or anyone involved in such services are not allowed to be involved in weddings. Home delivery of any kind of items related to wedding tent house and cook cannot be done. The marriage garden, marriage hall and hotel premises will be closed for weddings. Owners of the wedding venue, tent professionals, catering managers and bandwagon owners will have to return the advance booking amount to the planner or adjust it for future planning.

All places of worship will be closed

All types of religious places will be closed during the lockdown. People are requested to perform pooja-arch, worship, prayers etc. while staying at home.
