One more Air Force MiG-21 crashes, another pilot dies

One more MiG-21 has crashed and another pilot has been killed due to the Indian Air Force's compulsion to keep obsolete MiG-21 fighter jets in operation.

According to the details received, an Air Force MiG-21 plane crashed near Moga in Punjab late on Thursday night. According to the police, pilot Abhinav Chaudhary was killed in the accident. The plane crashed about 25 km from Moga. It caught fire as soon as the plane landed.

Due to bad weather, the rescue team reached the spot at 11.30 pm. The news agency quoted Indian Air Force sources as saying that the plane flew from Suratgarh airbase in Rajasthan at night for its routine study. The aircraft was flown by Air Force Squadron Leader Abhinav Chaudhary.

He was on a practice mission and was returning to Suratgarh airbase after completing the mission when the aircraft malfunctioned. The pilot jumped out of the plane at the last minute. The pilot's body was found eight acres from where the plane crashed.

The plane crashed into a farm and the residential area was only 500 meters away. The police convoy reached the spot after receiving a message from the control room. Meanwhile, an air force team also reached the spot. After a four-hour struggle, the pilot's body was found. The wreckage of the plane had penetrated five feet into the ground.
