Kerala government extends lockdown till May 30, however removes triple lockdown from three districts

The Kerala government on Friday announced a one-week statewide lockdown till May 30 to curb the spread of the Kovid-19 epidemic. The lockdown has been in effect in Kerala since May 8, as there has been no reduction in daily imprisonment cases like weekend bans and lockdowns in the past. On May 16, the lockdown was extended to May 23.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also announced the withdrawal of the "triple lockdown" imposed in three districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Thrissur from May 16. However, the “triple lockdown” will continue in Malappuram district. Carolla has seen a sharp rise in cases and deaths during the second wave of the corona virus epidemic.

The reason behind this is the decrease in the positivity rate of the corona and the decrease in the active cases. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the triple lockdown will continue in Malappuram.

The Kerala government had imposed a triple lockdown in these four districts from May 16 to May 23 due to increasing cases. The borders of these districts were also sealed to prevent the spread of the virus. With it was announced the opening of shops one day.

In the last 24 hours, 142 people lost their lives due to corona. So far 41,032 people infected with corona have recovered in the state. So far 6994 people have lost their lives. There are 3,06,346 active cases in the state, who are in home isolation or undergoing treatment in hospitals. In the last one day, 1,33,558 corona have been tested in the state.
