Gaza conflict: Biden says Israel's existence must be accepted under any circumstances

Amid pressure from the Middle East and pro-Palestinian campaigns by Muslim countries, US President Joe Biden made it clear that his commitment to Israel had not changed. According to him, the existence of Israel in the Middle East must be acknowledged. Biden called the "two-nation policy" the best solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

During a joint news conference with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Biden said the Democratic Party of America is still in favor of Israel and supports the two-nation policy. "I have made it clear to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that we will ensure the safety of the people in the West Bank," Biden said in an analysis of the dramatic shift in US policy toward the Middle East.

We also have financial commitments for the West Bank. Biden expressed commitment to rebuilding Gaza, saying he could consider a package with other countries. According to Biden, he also hinted at the need to end sectarian strife in Jerusalem during talks with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
