The second wave of Corona virus is wailing in the country. Against which a vaccination campaign is going on in the country at present. Controversy and politics are raging over vaccine prices and shortages. The price of a vaccine available to the private sector at Rs 250 has been increased six times. In India, the price of Covishield vaccine has gone up from Rs 700 to Rs 900 and that of Bharat Biotech from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,500.

According to a report on the CoWIN website, only four large corporate hospitals in the private sector have come forward for corona vaccination. These include Apollo, Max, Fortis and Manipalan. Core vaccine prices vary within most countries of the world, India being one of them. Even in India, most people do not want to pay for the corona vaccine. The biggest reason is the ever-increasing price of the corona vaccine in private. In India you have to pay 12 12 to get a dose of Covishield and 17 17 to get a dose of Covacin.

When vaccination was introduced in India, the central government paid only Rs 150 for two doses. The central government vaccinated the state government and private hospitals. Not only that but private hospitals were allowed to pay Rs 100 per dose for vaccination. However, some hospitals effectively charge Rs 250-300 per dose for vaccination.

A spokesman for Max Hospital said the Covishield had so far cost Rs 660-670, which included GST and other expenses. He said that when vaccines are ordered, 5 to 6 per cent of them go bad. So that its price goes from 710 to 715. In addition, PPE kits, sanitizers, biomedical arrangements have to be made for the employees who get vaccinated. Which costs 170 to 180 rupees. So the cost of a vaccine is 900 rupees.
