CALIFORNIA: Eight people, including 36-year-old Sikh Sikh Taptejdeep Singh of Indian descent, were killed in a shooting at a rail yard in San Jose, USA, on Wednesday. A spokesman for the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said the suspect was also killed in Wednesday's shooting at the Valley Transportation Authority Light Railroad.

Valley Transportation Authority colleagues said Taptejdeep Singh acted like a hero. He came out to rescue fellow employees despite being in a safe place in an office room and was the victim of a hapless shooting.

A shooting at a railroad in Silicon Valley on Wednesday left several people dead and wounded, including a suspect. The shooting happened at a train station adjacent to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department. It is a transport control center where trains are parked and also has a maintenance yard.

The victims included Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) employees. VTA provides bus, light rail and other transportation services in Santa Clara County. The mayor of San Jose tweeted condolences to the family of the deceased.
