The effects of Hurricane Yas are clearly visible in Jharkhand and heavy rains are falling in many places, causing storms in the state's rivers. The water in a river at Latehar was so high that vehicles were trapped in it. However, the occupants of the vehicles somehow managed to jump into the river and save their lives. The meteorological department had already warned of heavy rains in the state.

It has been raining continuously for the last 2 days at Latehar. Due to rains, the water level of Dhardhari river has risen. In the midst of all this, as there was no bridge near Tupu Hesla village in Sadar Prakhand, a Bolero vehicle tried to reach the other side from the middle of the river. At that moment, there was a sudden heavy flood and the Bolero vehicle started flowing in the water. The occupants of the vehicle jumped out of the vehicle to save their lives and pulled the vehicle out with a rope.

The effect was also seen in Bihar

The impact of Hurricane Yas is spreading not only in Jharkhand but also in Bihar. It has been raining intermittently with heavy winds at Kishanganj. Kishanganj District Collector has issued a high alert for Yas storm. At the same time, the DM has directed all the executive officers of the district to keep an eye on the water level of the rivers.

It is also raining with strong winds in Samastipur district. Generators have been installed in Kovid Care Centers to avoid power supply problems.

Areas along the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh are also being warned due to the Yas storm. In Varanasi, the district administration has announced a helpline number with necessary guidelines for hurricanes. At Gangaghat, the police are constantly making announcements to warn the people. Apart from that, the already restricted naval operations are being strictly enforced. The pre-hurricane effect has been felt in Varanasi since morning.
