DMK President Stalin was sworn in as chief minister, the leader joined the cabinet

In Tamil Nadu, DMK president MK Stalin was sworn in as chief minister in Chennai on Friday. The cabinet consisted of 33 members besides him. In addition to the experienced and senior leader Duraimurugam, about 12 new members became ministers for the first time.

According to a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan, Governor Banwarilal Purohit had approved the list of ministers and their departments assigned by Stalin.

Stalin met the priest along with senior party leaders and general secretary Duraimurugan and handed over a letter to him to elect him as the leader of the DMK legislature, claiming to form a government. In the previous DMK government (2006-11), Stalin was the Deputy Chief Minister and his father M Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister.

The DMK won 133 seats in the Assembly elections and its other allies, including the Congress, won a total of 159 seats in the 234-member assembly.
