The initial trend seems to be that the TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, is going to seize power with a huge majority in the high-profile assembly elections in West Bengal.
The BJP's performance in this election has not been as expected. Far from gaining power, it is now questionable whether the BJP will win more than 100 seats.
The worst situation is for the Left. At one time, West Bengal was ruled by the Left and West Bengal was considered their stronghold. Till not a single seat got the upper hand.
The Congress is losing 42 seats in the last election and the Left is losing 26 seats in the last election.
