4.0 magnitude earthquake shakes Assam for fourth time in 10 days

This is the fourth tremor in Assam in the last 10 days. The epicenter was reported at Nagaon, with a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. Fear gripped the people as soon as the quake was reported and they rushed out of their homes.

Assam has been experiencing continuous tremors for the past one week. A few days ago, in just 24 hours, the earth shook more than 10 times. No major loss of life or property was reported as the magnitude of the quake felt at Nagaon was not high.

Earlier on May 7, a magnitude 2.8 earthquake shook Assam. It was preceded by an earthquake on May 3 and 5 in Assam.
