US refuses to supply raw material for corona vaccine to India

In the first wave of Corona, when the US appealed to India to send the drug hydroxychloroquine, the Indian government delivered the drug to the US in a matter of days.

The same US is now reluctant to supply India with the raw material for corona vaccine when it is needed. Recently, Adar Poonawala, CEO of the Serum Institute, appealed to US President Joe Biden for raw material.

"Now the first responsibility of our government is to take care of the United States. The United States understands India's needs, but the American people are our first priority.

Later, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandvia met with executives of India's vaccine companies. S Jaishankar said the world should help India because India has always been helping the world. That is, there is an easy supply of vaccines.

India's ambassador to the United States has also appealed to Biden's government to provide raw materials. The Biden government has enacted the Defense Production Act, which is used in a state of war, leaving American companies with no choice but to prioritize domestic production.

The United States has set a target of vaccinating all people in the country by July 4. Only American companies can get raw material for the vaccine made in the United States.
