The National Investigation Agency has sought the medical report of Sachin Waje, a former Mumbai police officer. Sachin's lawyer had filed a petition in the court alleging that Sachin was suffering from chest pain and heart blockage. The NIA court then sought Waje's medical report. Sachin Vaje is the main accused in the Antelia case and Mansukh Hiren in the case. The investigating agency arrested him on March 13 and his custody is coming to an end on Saturday.

Ronak Naik, Waje's lawyer, wrote a petition to the court in which Waje said he had 90 per cent blockage in his heart with chest pain. For this reason Waje demanded that he be allowed to see a cardiologist so that he could undergo a course of medical treatment. The court then asked for Waje's medical report. The report is due to be presented to the investigating agency in court on Saturday.

The NIA can take you into custody for 30 days

The investigating agency has imposed several sections of the Unlawful Activities Act i.e. UAPA against Waje. This gives the investigating agency the right to seek bail for 30 days. While in the clauses of IPC, custody can be given only for 14 days at a time. In addition, the investigating agency under UAPA can file a chargesheet in 180 days but in IPC this time limit is 90 days.
