People in Assam don't need to wear masks: Health Minister Hemant Sarma's statement becomes topic of discussion

As the corona outbreak is spreading like wildfire in the country and the number of patients is on the rise, the statement of Assam Health Minister and BJP's giant Nata Hemant Biswa Sarma has become a hot topic of discussion.

Hemant Sarmanu says that Corona has left Assam and now the people of Assam do not need to wear masks. In a media interview, he said that when Korona has left Assam, people can spread false fears by wearing masks. The central government may issue its own guideline but as far as Assam is concerned, there are no corona in Assam today. I will appeal to the people of Assam to wear masks when Korona returns.

Asked about the austerity measures taken by other states, Hemant Sarma said, "What should I do if I don't need to wear a mask right now ... I don't need to wear a mask here."

Elections are being held in Assam amid growing Koro transition in the country. Millions of people are flocking to election rallies and most are without masks.

The Election Commission has imposed a 48-hour campaign ban on Hemant Sarma for making a controversial statement.
