After India, the situation in Pakistan is deteriorating due to the Corona virus crisis. Like India, the number of Koro infections is increasing in different parts of Pakistan. This has led to shortage of oxygen and beds in Pakistan's hospitals. The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad has been bed-ridden and surgery has been suspended due to lack of oxygen.

A total of 5,870 new cases of corona were reported in Pakistan on Friday and the deadly virus killed 144 people. As of April 23, 2021, the number of coronaviruses in Pakistan has risen to 7,84,108 and 16,842 people have died so far. Pakistan's positivity rate is 10.91 percent. Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the nation after a new figure of Koro patients came to light.

Imran Khan urged the countrymen to follow the Korona protocol. He also warned that a lockdown would have to be imposed if a catastrophic situation like India's develops. After the National Coordination Committee meeting, Imran Khan addressed the countrymen and informed them that the army had been asked to assist the police in enforcing the guidelines of social distance in the country.

According to Imran Khan, if people start wearing masks, half the trouble will end there. He said the government was trying to avoid a lockdown as it would hit the poor the hardest but the situation could change if the epidemic spreads.
