Lockdown in Delhi extended for a week, now locked till May 3

The state government has extended the lockdown for another week as the situation in the capital Delhi has not improved. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made the announcement. Arvind Kejriwal informed that the decision was taken after deliberation.

During a press conference, Arvind Kejriwal said that the number of corona cases in Delhi is on the rise. Due to this, it became very necessary to implement lockdown in Delhi. Lockdown is the ultimate weapon to confront Corona, according to the chief minister. Seeing the way the cases were progressing it became necessary to use the ultimate weapon.

Chief Minister Kejriwal said that Corona's grievances were still going on. Because of this we have decided to increase the lockdown in the state. The lockdown has been extended to 5:00 a.m. on May 3. He also discussed the ongoing oxygen shortage in Delhi. With the positivity rate hovering above 32 per cent in Delhi, the oxygen crisis looming and there is a shortage of beds, the government has no option but to extend the lockdown.
