New delhi date. Saturday, April 24, 2021

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Justice SA Bobde said he had given the 'best' of his tenure before leaving the courtroom on the last day of his nearly 17-month tenure. He also said he was unaware of what lawyers and the general public would say about his tenure.

There has also been a very interesting revelation on the day of Justice Bobde's retirement. In his farewell address, Vikas Singh, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, also referred to the mediation efforts of Justice Bobde, a member of a special bench of five judges, during the hearing of the Ayodhya dispute.

Singh said that in March 2019, the bench had approached for a solution to this sensitive issue through mediation. Names were sought for the committee and later a committee was also formed. At the time, Justice Bobade questioned Singh on whether Shah Rukh Khan would be willing to join the arbitration committee. Because Justice Bobby wanted a unanimous resolution of the dispute in which no one was harmed. Singh later spoke to Shah Rukh Khan and he was enthusiastically ready for it but then the talk did not go ahead.

Physical hearing turned into virtual hearing

"I have witnessed this kind of moment before but sitting on my own back gives a mixed emotional feeling," Justice Bobde said during his retirement. I can't express it in words. AG KK Venugopal, while praising Chief Justice Justice Bobde, said that he had turned physical hearings into virtual hearings when the Corona epidemic began to spread in India in March last year. According to SG Tushar Mehta, Justice Bobde is an excellent person and his sense of humor is also amazing.

Farewell to the virtual ceremony

Friday was Justice Bobday's final day as chief justice. The Supreme Court Bar Association bade him farewell in a virtual ceremony at 5:00 p.m. Bobade is the first judge to bid farewell to a virtual ceremony.
