Hanumangarhi mahant killed by crushing his head with a brick in Ayodhya, body found in Gaushala

Mahanda Kanhaiya Das, a Naga monk from Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya, was killed by crushing his head with a brick while he was sleeping at night. The whole diocese is shocked by this incident. He was the mahant of Gulchaman Bagh associated with Basantia Patti and his body was found at Gaushala of Charanpaduka temple. It is being speculated that the abbot was killed due to personal animosity and the police have reached the spot and taken necessary action.

As soon as the incident was reported, a large number of Naga monks from Hanumangarhi had gathered there. Currently, the district administration officials have seized the body and started investigation. Fingerprint experts have also reached the spot.

There was an ongoing property dispute

According to the allegation leveled by Gurubhai Ramanujdas of the deceased mahant, a case was pending against Golu Das alias Shashikant Das over a dispute over the land and house of the deceased. Police have taken Golu Das into custody and are conducting further investigations.
