Dassault gifts Indian mediator 1 million euros in Raphael deal: French report

The 2016-17 Raphael warplane deal between India and France has once again exposed the gin of corruption. According to a French publication, Dassault, the French company that made Raphael, had to give a million euros as a gift to an intermediary in India. Following the revelations made by the French media, the two countries are once again questioning Raphael Deal.

Dassault paid the amount to an Indian intermediary in 2016, when the Raphael Accord was signed between India and France, according to a claim by French publication Mediapart. In 2017,, 5,08,925 was transferred from the Dassault Group account as a 'gift to clients'.

The revelations came as France's anti-corruption agency audited Dassault's accounts. After the revelation, Raphael claimed that the money was used to build 50 larger models of Raphael warplanes, but no such models were made.
