Corona ward beds are filling up fast in Delhi-Mumbai, hotel has to be rented in Pune

Corona virus has taken a monstrous form in India. The situation is getting worse than it was a year ago. In the last 24 hours, more than 1.15 lakh new cases have been registered in the country, which is the highest ever recorded. Not only that, the number of active cases is again increasing to 10 lakh.

In the midst of all this, cities like Delhi and Mumbai are witnessing fights over the bed. Apart from that, there is a shortage of beds in cities like Pune and Nagpur.

The situation in Mumbai

Corona has become uncontrollable in Mumbai and an average of 10,000 cases are coming up every day. In these circumstances, people are worried about the bed. According to figures released on the BMC's website, there is no shortage of beds in Mumbai at present but the figures are growing rapidly. As per BMC's chart, 5,400 beds are still vacant for Corona reserve. The figure is as of April 5 and about 17,000 beds have been filled. In addition about 136 ICU beds are vacant while 51 ventilator beds remain vacant.

Status of Delhi

The new wave of Corona has become uncontrollable in Delhi as well as in Mumbai. Recently 5,100 new cases were reported in the capital. The figure, which had earlier reached around 500, is now hovering around 5,000. Beds are filling up very fast in Delhi. According to a recent report, there are a total of 8,229 corona beds in Delhi out of which 3,770 have been filled while 4,459 beds are vacant. The speed of bed filling has increased over the last few days. Out of 903 ventilators in Delhi, 576 have been filled.

The situation in Pune worsened

There is a severe shortage of beds in Pune. Pune has seen more than 4,000 cases per day for the last 15 days. According to Ruby Hospital in Pune, the shortage of beds is due to the increasing number of patients. Because of this the hospital has rented 3 hospitals where 180 beds have been facilitated.
